When and where is the event?
The event is taking place at Wythenshawe Hall on Saturday 13th and 14th June. The hall was been the home of the Tatton family for over 600 years and is now owned by Manchester City Council.
What will we be doing?
Over both days there will be a civilian and military living history encampments with various stations that demonstrate what everyday life was like during the English Civil Wars. There will also be military drills throughout the day where the soldiers will be taken though their paces by the drill officers. The drills will feature the various weapons in use by the armies during the period. In the afternoon on both days there will be skirmish outside the hall as the parliamentarians attempt to seize the hall from the defending royalists.
Come along and speak to our members about what life was like, you can also try on the soldier’s armour and the equipment they used. There will also be a children's drill after the main drill displays on both of the days where any children in the audience will be taken through their paces as a solider in the English Civil War!
